Almost done

Salam~

So basically, we made some big changes in our portal hosting, where we found a better hosting with Joomla as the CMS. So currently we're running on Joomla CMS for our portal and the portal is 80% finish. Just need to update some of the function.
Im so happy with this new portal since its a new thing for us. Hopefully we can finish it by today or tomorrow.

Thx

Preparation for the Big day

Today, the Maxxus-Bangers hold a discussion session lead by the master BuzZ ShaHriN himself. The main event for today is to compile the materials gathered by all of the group members earlier.

The discussion is first held in COIT cafe, and then we all proceed to Lv 4 lab. The main software we use is Microsoft Publisher. Before we actually input everything into the Microsoft Publisher, using the COIT Lab's internet facility, we gathered more information and this is done to ensure that our data is up-to-date.

All for the sake of getting things right for tomorrow.

Software Engineering Facts

Software engineering is the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software. The term software engineering was popularized during the 1968 NATO Software Engineering Conference (held in Garmisch, Germany) by its chairman F.L. Bauer, and has been in widespread use since. The discipline of software engineering encompasses knowledge, tools, and methods for defining software requirements, and performing software design, software construction, software testing, and software maintenance tasks. Software engineering also draws on knowledge from fields such as computer engineering, computer science, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering.

As of 2004, the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics counts 760,840 software engineers holding jobs in the U.S for comparison, in the U.S. there are some 1.4 million practitioners employed in all other engineering disciplines combined. The term software engineer is used very liberally in the corporate world. Very few of the practicing software engineers actually hold engineering degrees from accredited universities. There are estimated to be about 1.5 million practitioners in the E.U., Asia, and elsewhere[citation needed]. SE pioneers include Barry Boehm, Fred Brooks, C. A. R. Hoare, and David Parnas.

Development Process Models

Assalamualaikum n Good Day~
In the lecture today, Mdm Badariah ask the each group about what development process models that we would like to use for our project which is the portal. After listening to other group about their choice and their explanation on the methods, I'm still not decide yet about what methods our group should use for the project. But we will discuss about this and choose a method that suitable with our project. For now, V model seems to be a good choice for starter, but i need to have a full discussion with other group member about this and pick up the most suitable model for the project.

Thx
